ASTM A790 UNS S32205 has excellent corrosion resistance, much higher than grade 316. Grade 2205 stainless steel has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion. Duplex 1.4462 resists chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) at temperatures up to 150°C. Duplex 2205 Pipe Manufacturing Process
Duplex steel UNS S32205 EFW pipe can be annealed between 1020 - 1100 degrees Celsius and rapidly cooled in air or water. If the ambient temperature rises above 300 degrees Celsius, the microstructure of UNS S32205 material will become brittle and precipitate. If the temperature is below -50 degrees Celsius, the material will undergo a transition from ductility to brittleness.
