Hastelloy B2 (UNS No. N10665,2.4617) is a high-performance nickel-based alloy with nickel and molybdenum as the main components, designed for extreme corrosive environments. Its unique chemical composition and microstructure give it excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature stability and mechanical strength, making it a key material in the chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other industrial fields. manufacturing process of Hastelloy N10665 pipe
The double process of vacuum induction melting (VIM) plus electroslag remelting (ESR) can effectively reduce the content of impurity elements (such as carbon and silicon) and avoid intergranular corrosion.
Hot rolling of Hastelloy 2.4617 tube
The hot working temperature needs to be kept in the range of 1000-1200°C to prevent cracking caused by low-temperature rolling.
Cold rolling of Alloy B2 pipe
After cold working, solid solution treatment at 1050-1100°C is required to eliminate residual stress.
welded of N10665 pipe
The welding process recommends the use of ERNiMo-7 welding wire and argon arc welding (GTAW) to reduce heat input and avoid σ phase embrittlement in the weld area.

Chemical composition of Alloy B2 pipe
The typical composition of Hastelloy B2 is nickel (about 65%-70%), molybdenum (about 26%-30%), and contains a small amount of iron, chromium and cobalt. This high molybdenum content makes it extremely resistant to corrosion in reducing media (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid).
Physical and mechanical properties of Alloy N10665 tube
The tensile strength of Hastelloy B2 steel pipe at room temperature can reach more than 730 MPa, the yield strength is about 340 MPa, the elongation is more than 40%, and it has good plasticity and toughness. Its high temperature performance is also excellent, it can work stably for a long time below 400°C, and the short-term temperature resistance can reach 800°C. In addition, its thermal expansion coefficient is low (about 11.2 μm/m·°C), which can reduce the risk of deformation caused by thermal stress in a temperature fluctuation environment.
Hastelloy B2 pipe Compared with others
Hastelloy B3: B3 reduces the tendency of hot working cracks by adding tungsten (1-3%) and optimizing the nickel/molybdenum ratio, but the cost is increased by about 20%.
Inconel 625: Although it performs better in oxidizing environments (such as seawater), its hydrochloric acid tolerance is only 1/3 of B2.
Titanium alloy (Gr.2): The corrosion resistance in dilute hydrochloric acid is similar, but titanium alloy is prone to hydrogen embrittlement when the temperature exceeds 100°C, and the upper limit of B2 is higher (400°C).
