ASME SA 790 UNS S32750 Pipe Overview
Alloy 2507 (UNS S32750) is a super duplex stainless steel with high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen contents that provide excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and general corrosion. ASME SA 790 UNS S32750 also has excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Lightweight S32750 material can often be used to achieve the same design strength as thicker nickel alloys. The resulting weight savings can significantly reduce the overall cost of manufacturing.

ASTM A790/A790M-22 Standard
Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Ferritic/Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipe
The ASTM A790/ASME SA 790 specification covers seamless and straight-seam welded ferritic/austenitic steel pipe for general corrosive service with particular emphasis on resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Super duplex 2507 pipe shall be manufactured by seamless or automatic welding process with no filler metal added in welding operation. Our supplier will perform tensile test, hardening test, flattening test, hydrostatic test and non-destructive electrical test on each batch of pipes.
ASME SA 790 UNS S32750 Manufacturing Process
Hot Forming
UNS S32750 super duplex shall be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F. Solution annealing shall be performed at a minimum temperature of 1925°F followed by a rapid air or water quench.
Cold Forming
A790 S32750 is more difficult to deep draw, stretch forming and similar processes than austenitic stainless steels. When forming requires more than 10% cold deformation, solution annealing and quenching are recommended.
Heat Treatment
Solution annealing shall be performed at a minimum temperature of 1925°F. Annealing shall be immediately followed by a rapid air or water quench.
Welding
ASTM S32750 has good weldability and can be joined to itself or other materials by metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), flux cored arc welding (FCW), or submerged arc welding (SAW).
