Features of Alloy C2000
Broad-spectrum corrosion resistance: Excellent corrosion resistance to both oxidizing acids (nitric acid, mixed acid) and reducing acids (hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid), superior to traditional C series alloys (such as C-276);
Local corrosion resistance: High chromium (23%) improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and molybdenum (16%) and copper (1.6%) enhance resistance to reducing acids;
Processing and weldability: Low-carbon design reduces intergranular corrosion tendency and is suitable for complex structure manufacturing.

One of the practical advantages of alloy C2000 is its excellent fabricability. It can be hot or cold worked into various forms such as sheets, plates, coils, and foils. The alloy shows good formability when solution annealed and can be processed by standard metalworking techniques.

Machining Hastelloy C2000 plate is challenging due to its high strength and the tendency to work harden. Specialized cutting tools-often carbide-tipped tools-and optimized machining parameters (such as lower speeds and appropriate feeds) are recommended to minimize tool wear and to achieve a high-quality finish.
Welding of Alloy 2.4675
The weldability of Hastelloy C2000 is among its notable features. It is compatible with various welding processes including Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Its homogeneous microstructure allows welding to be performed without post-weld heat treatment under most circumstances, though care must be taken during welding to minimize the heat input. Pre-cleaning of the surfaces and controlled interpass temperatures (typically below 93 °C or 200 °F) help maintain its corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zones.
