Features of alloy 800h pipe
- High creep/rupture strength: Alloy 800H maintains its load-bearing ability in continuous high-heat service (around 600–982°C) far better than ordinary steels or non-H versions.
- Oxidation and carburization resistance: The 19–23% Cr and Ni-rich matrix resists formation of oxide scales or carbon pickup in furnace and flue-gas atmospheres. Incoloy 800H pipe resists thinning and scaling that cause rapid failure in lesser alloys.
- Stability and corrosion resistance: Incoloy 800H does not form brittle sigma-phase even after long exposure at 600–700°C. Overall corrosion resistance in hot acidic or sulfurous environments is excellent.
- Good weldability and fabrication: Incoloy 800H can be welded by standard techniques (e.g. TIG, MIG) with minimal embrittlement risk.
