A Brief Description of Nickel 200
Nickel 200 (UNS N02200/W.Nr. 2.4060 & 2.4066) is commercially pure (99.6%) wrought nickel. The alloy is considered commercially pure grade because it has 99% nickel in it. The alloy also has a maximum of 0.4% iron, 0.35% of silicon, 0.35% of manganese, 0.25% of copper and 0.15% of carbon. It has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful features of the alloy 200 are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivities, low gas content and low vapor pressure. ASTM B163 Nickel 200 is one of the hardest metals in nature.
ASTM B474 UNS N02200 EFW pipe has high electrical conductivity, excellent dry fluorine resistance, and super strong electrical, thermal and magnetostrictive properties, useful for caustic soda, resistance to corrosion and resistance to several different chemicals that reduce it. One of the products that has high electrical and thermal conductivity with low vapor pressure and gas content is nickel 200 pipes. These pipes are majorly used in the areas where less corrosive metal are needed. They are primarily used in heat treatment, machining, machining and expansion, etc.
