Neck Design
The neck features an integrated conical or cylindrical design, with a thicker wall than ordinary flanges. Some large-diameter flanges also include reinforcing ribs to further enhance stress resistance. The presence of the neck effectively disperses the axial force, radial force, and torque caused by the pipe media pressure, preventing stress concentration at the flange-pipe connection and reducing the risk of weld joint cracking.
Welding End Design
The welding end has a standard bevel, typically at an angle of 37.5°±2.5°, allowing for precise alignment with the pipe end. A secure welded joint is formed through processes such as arc welding and submerged arc welding. The bevel design not only ensures a tight fit during welding but also allows for uniform weld penetration, enhancing welding strength and ensuring the sealing integrity of the connection between the flange and the pipe, effectively preventing high-pressure media leakage.
Flange Ring and Sealing Surface Design
The flange ring is a disc-shaped structure with evenly distributed bolt holes for connection to a mating flange using high-strength bolts, forming a sealed space. The type of sealing surface can be selected according to operating conditions. Common types include raised face (RF), male and female face (MFM), and tongue and groove face (TG).
