Scope of application and core definition of the ASME B16.9 Straight tee Standard
Applicable objects: ASME B16.9 straight tees is butt welded fittings that is suitable for pipeline systems with nominal sizes (NPS) ranging from 1/2 inch (DN15) to 48 inches (DN1200), and suitable for welding connections of carbon steel, stainless steel (such as 310moln, 316L), and alloy steel pipe fittings.
Core terms of asme b16.9 straight tee size
Nominal size (NPS): Refers to the nominal size of the pipe specification, not the actual outer diameter.
Center to End (C-E): The distance between the end faces of a straight tee main pipe and the center of the pipe fitting, as well as the distance between the end faces of branch pipes and the center (critical installation dimensions).
Schedule: Consistent with the supporting pipeline, covering Sch 10S, Sch 20, Sch 40S, Sch 80S, Sch 160, etc., to ensure that the pipe fittings match the wall thickness of the pipeline.

GENERAL NOTE: All dimensions are in millimeters.
NOTES:
(1) Outlet dimension M for NPS 26 (DN 650) and larger is recommended but not required.
(2) Dimensions applicable to crosses NPS 24 (DN 600) and smaller.
Selection and application precautions
Matching pipeline parameters: When selecting, it is necessary to confirm the NPS, Schedule (wall thickness grade), and material of the pipeline to ensure that the pipe fittings are fully compatible with the outer diameter, wall thickness, and material of the pipeline (such as using 316L material ASME B16.9 tees for 316L pipelines).
Reference standard appendix: For detailed dimensions such as center to center distance and wall thickness of NPS, please refer to the ASME B16.9 standard appendix to avoid relying solely on experience for selection.
Installation compatibility: The welding gap between the pipe fittings and the pipeline (usually 2-3mm) needs to be considered, and the center distance tolerance needs to match the coaxiality requirements of the pipeline installation to prevent welding deformation.
