ASME B36.19 SCH160 Pipe, as a medium-to-high-grade thick-walled specification, is designed to withstand harsh working conditions involving high pressure, high media strength, and susceptibility to external impact. Compared to conventional wall thickness grades such as Sch 40 and Sch 80, SCH160 steel pipes have significantly increased wall thickness, resulting in significantly improved mechanical strength and deformation resistance.

Mechanical and Corrosion Resistance Properties
High strength and thick-walled design: SCH160 Pipe combined with the inherent mechanical properties of stainless steel, result in tensile strength, yield strength, and impact toughness significantly superior to conventional thin-walled steel pipes, enabling them to withstand long-term erosion from high-pressure fluids and external load impacts.
Strong corrosion resistance: The chromium and nickel elements in the stainless steel material form a dense oxide film, which effectively resists corrosion from acidic and alkaline media, high-temperature steam, seawater, and other corrosive environments, reducing the risk of pipeline corrosion and leakage, and extending service life.
High and low-temperature resistance: It is capable of adapting to extreme temperature conditions from -270℃ to 870℃ without embrittlement or deformation due to drastic temperature changes.

Standardized Production and Testing Standards
The production of ASME B36.19 SCH160 pipes must strictly adhere to standard specifications. The production process includes two methods: seamless forging and welding. Seamless pipes are suitable for high-pressure, high-purity applications, while welded pipes are suitable for conventional high-pressure scenarios requiring high sealing performance.
During the production process, the pipes undergo rigorous quality testing, including dimensional inspection, non-destructive testing (ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing), mechanical performance testing (tensile, yield, and impact tests), and corrosion resistance testing, to ensure that the pipes are free from cracks, pores, inclusions, and other defects, and that all performance indicators meet the standard requirements.
