Inconel 625 (UNS N06625, 2.4856) pipe is a nickel-based solid solution strengthened high temperature alloy. Its chemical composition is based on nickel (Ni), with about 20%-23% chromium (Cr), 8.0%-10.0% molybdenum (Mo), 3.15%-4.15% niobium (Nb) and a small amount of iron (Fe), titanium (Ti), aluminum (Al) and other elements. This unique alloy formula gives the material excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature mechanical properties.
Core advantages of Inconel 625 Pipe
Inconel N06625 corrosion resistance
Alloy 625 tube exhibits excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive media, in 65% boiling nitric acid, the corrosion rate is only 0.05mm/year, which is much better than ordinary stainless steel. In neutral solutions containing chlorides, the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is significantly higher than that of 316L stainless steel, and the critical pitting temperature (CPT) exceeds 70℃.
Alloy 625 High-temperature performance
Inconel 625 pipe can still maintain good oxidation resistance at 900℃, and the oxidation weight gain rate is less than 1mg/cm².
alloy N06625 Fatigue
Inconel N06625 pipe has excellent fatigue resistance, and the fatigue strength under 10⁷ cycles can reach more than 200MPa, which can withstand long-term alternating loads.
Inconel 625 work hardening rate
Alloy 625 tube has a low work hardening rate (about 0.25GPa), which allows the pipeline to be cold formed or partially bent, and adapts to complex engineering installation requirements. Even in low-temperature environments (such as -196℃), its impact toughness is still higher than 100J/cm², avoiding the risk of brittle fracture.

Maintenance of ASTM B444 Inconel 625 Pipe
Routine inspections can evaluate the thinning of pipeline wall thickness and internal defects through non-destructive methods such as ultrasonic thickness measurement and eddy current flaw detection. Reasonable installation technology combined with regular maintenance can enable Inconel 625 pipelines to operate stably for decades under extreme conditions, making them an ideal choice for high-reliability engineering.
corrosive environment
In corrosive environments, regular cleaning of the inner wall of the pipeline can prevent local corrosion caused by dirt deposition, and the cleaning medium should avoid fluoride ions or strong alkaline substances.
marine environment
For pipelines in open air or marine environments, the outer surface can be coated with polyurea or epoxy resin coating to further isolate water vapor and salt.
high-temperature environment
In high-temperature application scenarios, it is necessary to monitor the temperature distribution of the pipeline to avoid long-term overheating leading to grain coarsening or creep damage. If necessary, use insulation materials to reduce the heat load.
