Monel 400 WN Flange Manufacturer

Monel 400 wn flange is a nickel-copper-based, solid-solution-strengthened, corrosion-resistant alloy that can only be hardened by cold working. It maintains high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range. HT PIPE supply all different types and scales of flanges. Please feel free to contact us for further product information and pricing.

What is The weld neck flange?

The weld neck flange (WN flange) is a critical connection component in piping systems. Its distinctive feature is the long, tapered neck extending from the flange ring. This unique structure enables the WN flange to securely connect to the mating pipe with a single, full-penetration V-groove weld, demonstrating excellent structural integrity and sealing performance under high-pressure, high-temperature, or fluctuating temperature conditions.

The WN flange's design optimizes stress distribution. The tapered neck provides a smooth transition, effectively reducing stress concentrations caused by pipe expansion, contraction, or other external forces.

monel n04400 wn flange Metallographic Structure and Material Properties

Monel 400 alloy has a single austenitic face-centered cubic structure. This single-phase solid solution structure is the microscopic basis for its stability in various corrosive media. Without the interphase corrosion or compositional segregation common in multiphase alloys, Monel 400 exhibits uniform corrosion behavior and excellent overall performance.

The alloy's microstructure forms numerous dislocations and deformation twins during cold working, resulting in increased strength and hardness. This characteristic enables the material's mechanical properties to be adjusted by controlling the amount of cold working, providing flexibility for optimizing performance in different applications.

monel 400 flange Special Environmental Performance

Low Magnetic Permeability: With a relative magnetic permeability of ≤1.005, it is suitable for applications in the nuclear industry and precision instrument connections where magnetic interference must be avoided.

Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) Resistance: Monel 400 exhibits strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting in most freshwater and industrial waters, making it highly desirable for chemical equipment and marine applications.

Halogen Ion Corrosion Resistance: Monel 400 exhibits strong resistance to halogen ions such as chloride and fluoride, making it particularly important in chemical processing and seawater environments.

alloy 400 wn Flanges Application

Alloy 400 wn Flanges are widely used in various industries, including oil and gas, chemical, and food. They connect pipes, valves & other equipment and are commonly found in piping systems for offshore platforms, refineries, and power generation plants.
