What is Duplex 2205 Fabricated Flanged Pipe Spool?

Customized Duplex 2205 Pipe Spool Fabrication Suppliers, Fabricated Flanged Pipe Spool Manufacturers

Duplex 2205 Fabricated Flanged Pipe Spool  is a pre-assembled, custom-fabricated pipe assembly. Flanged Spools consist of flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, and other fittings. Duplex 2205 Pipe Spool Fittings in the shop before field installation, flanged connections can be easily bolted to other pipe assemblies.

1. What is Duplex 2205?

  • Chemical composition: Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205 / S31803)  consists of approximately 22% chromium, 5-6% nickel and 3% molybdenum
  • High strength: Almost twice as strong as standard austenitic stainless steels such as 316L
  • Excellent corrosion resistance: Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC)
  • Good weldability: Lower risk of hot cracking compared to austenitic grades

2. Fabricated flange Pipe Spool Manufacturing Process:

  • Cutting, bending and welding duplex 2205 pipes
  • Connecting flanges and fittings
  • Non-destructive testing (NDT), such as X-ray, ultrasonic and hydrostatic testing
  • Pickling and passivation for enhanced corrosion resistance

3. Flange Use Type:

  • Weld neck flange (WNF): For high pressure applications
  • Slip-on flange (SOF): For low pressure applications
  • Lap joint flange (LJF): For systems requiring frequent disassembly
  • Blind flange (BF): Used to seal the end of the pipe

4. Applications of Duplex Stainless Steel 2205 Flanged Pipe Spool

  • Oil and Gas Industry: Offshore platforms, pipelines and subsea equipment
  • Chemical processing plants: Resistant to corrosive media such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid
  • Desalination plants: Withstands high chloride seawater conditions
  • Power plants: Heat exchanger and condenser applications
  • Pulp and paper industry: High durability in corrosive environments

5. Why Use Fabricated Pipe Spools Instead of On-Site Welding?

  • Reduce installation time and cost: Minimize on-site welding and labor costs
  • Higher quality control: Ensure accurate welding, testing and inspection
  • Minimize downtime: Quick installation speeds up project schedules
  • Improve safety
