- Chemical composition: Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205 / S31803) consists of approximately 22% chromium, 5-6% nickel and 3% molybdenum
- High strength: Almost twice as strong as standard austenitic stainless steels such as 316L
- Excellent corrosion resistance: Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (SCC)
- Good weldability: Lower risk of hot cracking compared to austenitic grades
