304L stainless steel tube is an alloy pipe containing 18% chromium, 8% nickel and low carbon content. SS 304L tube has good resistance to intergranular corrosion. It has excellent general corrosion resistance and can be used as heat-resistant stainless steel. At the same time, 304L pipe still has good mechanical properties at -180℃. The plasticity, toughness and cold working properties of 304L tubing in the solid solution state make it corrosion-resistant in oxidizing acids, atmosphere, water and other media.

SS 304L Tubing Fabrication
Alloy 304L Weldability
ASTM A213 UNS S30400 pipe has excellent weldability and machinability, and can be subjected to various mechanical processing and precision manufacturing as needed. AISI 304L can be welded by ordinary methods because its maximum carbon content is 0.035%, which can inhibit the precipitation of carbides and has good welding performance. For manual arc welding, for 304 stainless steel with thinner cross-sectional dimensions, austenitic 002 welding rods can be used, which will not produce intergranular corrosion tendency.
SS 304L Pipe Heat Treatment Process
Solution treatment temperature of DIN 1.4301 stainless steel is 1080-1100℃, water cooling or air cooling. The intermediate annealing temperature of cold working is 850-970℃, and water cooling is performed after a certain period of stay. The steel structure after solution treatment is austenite, and sometimes contains a small amount of ferrite.
304L Steel Cold Forming Performance
Cold forming performance of SA 213 TP 304l tube is an important technical indicator to measure whether the forming is smooth and the yield rate. In order to obtain good cold forming performance, the manufacturer must control the ratio of chromium equivalent to nickel equivalent in the steel within an appropriate range.
