316L Stainless Steel Pipe contains chromium, nickel and molybdenum, with a carbon content of 0.035%. The low carbon content of SS 316L pipe makes it resistant to intergranular corrosion and easier to weld in applications. Due to the molybdenum contained in it, ASTM A312 TP316L stainless pipe is corrosion-resistant in chloride-rich environments. The overall performance of this steel is better than 304 stainless steel and is often used in marine, oil and gas industry pipelines. ASTM A312 TP316L Type

Our supplier can provide SS 316L seamless pipe and welded pipe. Seamless pipe is made by perforating the billet and has a stronger pressure bearing capacity. Welded pipe is made by welding the plate and is more suitable for applications that require large diameters.

Alloy 316L VS 316

The maximum carbon content of 316L stainless steel is 0.035%, while the maximum carbon content of 316 is 0.08%. 316L stainless steel round pipe has a lower carbon content, so the precipitation of chromium carbide during welding is reduced and intergranular corrosion will not occur.
