Alloy 347 (UNS S34700) is a niobium stabilized austenitic stainless steel pipe with good general corrosion resistance and slightly better resistance than 321 (UNS S32100) in strong oxidizing conditions. 347 stainless steel pipe has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to the chromium carbide precipitation temperature range of 800 – 1500°F (427 – 816°C). It also has good low temperature toughness. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. Our suppliers offer both SS 347 welded pipes and SS 347 seamless pipes.

347 Steel Pipe VS 304/316
SS 347 pipe contains more chromium and has niobium added to help stabilize the material and prevent the precipitation of chromium carbides. This makes it more resistant to intergranular corrosion than 304 stainless steel. In terms of its properties, 316 stainless steel is generally more ductile and formable than 347 stainless steel.
