Alloy 304 Stainless Steel Vs 316 Stainless Steel

In some cases, 304 stainless steel pipe is sensitive to pitting corrosion, while 316's additional 2%-3% molybdenum can reduce this sensitivity. Molybdenum makes SS DIN 1.4436 more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-contaminated media, seawater and acetic acid vapor.
