ASTM A312 Pipe Production Types

• a. Seamless pipe (SMLS): Seamless pipe is made by perforating a solid billet of stainless steel.
• b. Welded pipe (WLD): Includes welded pipes manufactured by automatic welding processes (resistance welding, electric fusion welding) without adding filler metal during welding.
• c. Cold-worked pipe (HCW pipe): Heavy cold-worked pipe, which is cold-worked with a reduction of not less than 35% in thickness on both walls and welded to the welded pipe before final annealing. Do not use fillers during welding.
