317L stainless steel pipe is a low carbon austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum. It has better corrosion resistance and enhanced resistance to sulfurous acid, acetic acid, etc. Due to the low carbon content of ASTM A312 TP317L pipe, it has strong resistance to intergranular corrosion. And it is also more resistant to sensitization when welding. 317L pipe has excellent oxidation resistance and shows low scaling rate at temperatures up to 1600-1650°F (871-899°C).
