317 stainless steel tube contains high amounts of Chromium, Nickel and Molybdenum, making it a stronger alternative to Grade 316. 317 has enhanced resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, especially in chloride-rich environments. In terms of workability, common welding hot working and cold working methods can be used. When heat treating this 317 metal, the temperature is not less than 1700°F.
