ASTM A240 304L Plate Heat Treatment

Annealing Treatment: First, heat the 304l stainless plate to a temperature in the range of 800°C to 900°C. Then, hold it at that temperature for a sufficient time, usually 1 to 2 hours, to ensure uniform heating of the material. Finally, cool it slowly to room temperature.

Solution Treatment: First, heat the 304l ss plate to a temperature in the range of 1050°C to 1150°C. Rapid cooling can be achieved by water quenching or other rapid cooling methods.

ASTM A240 S30403 Weldability:

The low carbon content of ss 304l plate enhances its weldability. It can be easily welded using common welding methods such as TIG (tungsten inert gas) or MIG (metal inert gas) welding, without the need for post-weld heat treatment to prevent sensitization.
