Alloy 2205 is a duplex stainless steel. In the annealed state, duplex 2205 is more than twice as strong as conventional austenitic stainless steels and has better corrosion resistance than Alloy 316 in many environments. Alloy 2205 has nitrogen added to improve corrosion resistance, which greatly improves its welding properties.
