Hastelloy C22 (UNS N06022, W.Nr 2.4602) pipe is the upgraded successor to C276 for oxidising acid service. With 22% chromium, 13% molybdenum, and 3% tungsten addition, C22 offers measurably better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance than C276, particularly in:

• Wet chlorine and chlorine dioxide bleach (pulp and paper)

• Ferric and cupric chloride solutions

• Nitric + hydrofluoric acid mixtures

• Seawater with high chlorine residual

• Sulphuric acid with oxidising contaminants (FGD scrubbers)

• Pharmaceutical and fine chemical reactors

C22 maintains the same fabricability as C276 - it can be welded by GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW without hot cracking, and is supplied in the solution-annealed condition (1120 °C min, water quenched) per ASTM B622 (seamless), B619 (welded), and B626 (welded, light wall).

Stock size range: OD 1/4 in to 12 in, wall thickness Sch 5S to XXH. Mill test certificate per EN 10204 3.1 included; 3.2 available for pressure-service orders. Hydrostatic test performed on every pipe. Optional NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliance documentation for sour service.
