Product Introduction

ASTM B423 Incoloy 825 Welded and seamless tube manufacturer, supplier

Incoloy 825(N08825,2.4858) is designed to combine the high corrosion resistance of nickel, the oxidation resistance of chromium, and the enhanced protection of molybdenum and copper against specific corrosive environments. Alloy 825 exhibits excellent durability in high temperature oxidizing environments (up to 540°C) and strong acidic media, making it the preferred material for harsh working conditions such as petrochemicals and offshore engineering. HT PIPE is a incoloy 825 Pipe supplier with 15+ export experience. N08825 Tube Corrosion resistance

Incoloy 825 can tolerate up to 50% sulfuric acid in acidic environments, and also performs well in phosphoric acid and nitric acid, especially in mixed acids containing oxidizing ions, where the corrosion rate is extremely low. The combination of nickel and molybdenum effectively inhibits stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides. The resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion can be evaluated by PREN (pitting equivalent value) to more than 35. Under high-temperature oxidation conditions, the chromium oxide layer formed on the surface can be stably maintained up to 540°C.

Material Testing of Incoloy 825 tube

  • Hardness Test
  • Chemical Analysis – Spectro Analysis
  • Positive Material Identification – PMI Testing
  • Flattening Test
  • Micro and MacroTest
  • Pitting Resistance Test
  • Flaring Test
  • Intergranular Corrosion (IGC) Test

Incoloy 825 Pipe Welding

When welding Incoloy 825, a low heat input process is required. Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) or plasma arc welding is recommended to reduce the heat affected zone. The preheating temperature must be strictly controlled below 100°C, and the interlayer temperature must not exceed 150°C to avoid carbide precipitation in the sensitization temperature range. After welding, local solution treatment is recommended, with a temperature range of 950°C to 980°C, followed by rapid cooling to restore corrosion resistance.

Application of alloy 825 pipe

Oil and gas: submarine pipelines, downhole tools for acid gas wells

Chemical equipment: sulfuric acid reactors, phosphoric acid evaporators, pickling equipment

Nuclear industry: containers and pipelines for nuclear waste treatment systems

Marine engineering: seawater desalination devices, heat exchangers

Environmental protection: key components of flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems.

manufacturing process of Alloy N08825 tube

Hot Rolling

Hot working of n08825 pipe is carried out in the range of 1100℃ to 1200℃ for hot extrusion or piercing rolling, and the deformation rate needs to be precisely controlled to avoid cracking.

Cold Rolling

The cold working stage achieves high dimensional accuracy through multiple cold drawing or cold rolling. The deformation amount of each pass is usually not more than 20%, and annealing treatment is required in the middle to eliminate work hardening.

heat treatment

Solution heat treatment is kept in the range of 925℃ to 980℃ and then quenched in water to completely dissolve the carbides and restore the austenite single-phase structure. The surface treatment uses a nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid mixed solution pickling to remove the oxide scale formed by hot working, and then passivation treatment is performed to enhance the surface corrosion resistance.
