Why Choose Inconel 600?
Inconel 600 is a Nickel-Chromium alloy designed for use from cryogenic temperatures up to nearly 2100°F. Its high nickel content (72% min) provides exceptional resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking.
Core Advantages:
- Oxidation Resistance: Excellent resistance to dry Cl2 and HCl gases at high temperatures.
- Corrosion Protection: Superior resistance to high-purity water and caustic corrosion.
- Versatile Fabrication: Easily welded and machined, making it ideal for complex heat exchanger designs.
- Non-Magnetic: Ideal for specialized electronic and aerospace components.

Inconel 600 vs. Inconel 601: Which do you need?
While both are high-nickel alloys, Inconel 600 is generally preferred for its resistance to caustic corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking, whereas Inconel 601 is better suited for extreme oxidation resistance at even higher temperatures (up to 2300°F) due to its Aluminum content.
Critical Applications
Chemical & Food Processing: Used in heaters, stills, and condenser tubes for handling fatty acids and alkaline solutions.
Aerospace Engineering: Exhaust liners, turbine seals, and engine components.
Heat Treatment Industry: Muffles, retorts, and furnace baskets.
