ASTM B168 UNS N06601 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of Inconel 601 is based on nickel (Ni) as the main matrix (about 58-63%), with the addition of chromium (Cr, 21-25%), aluminum (Al, 1.0-1.7%) and a small amount of iron (Fe) and other trace elements.
Nickel Alloy 601 Plate Mechanical properties
At room temperature, the typical tensile strength of Inconel 601 plate is about 655 MPa, the yield strength is 240 MPa, and the elongation is about 45%. As the temperature increases, its strength gradually decreases, but it can still maintain about 50% of the room temperature strength at 800°C.

Inconel N06601 Plate Hot forming
It is recommended to perform hot working in the temperature range of 870-1230°C, and rapid cooling is required after completion to avoid carbide precipitation.
Aloy N06601 Plate Cold forming
Due to the alloy's significant tendency to work hardening, large radius dies and step-by-step forming are required, with intermediate annealing if necessary (annealing temperature is about 1095-1150°C).
Welding of Inconel 601 Plate
TIG, MIG or plasma arc welding can be used, and ERNiCrFe-12 or similar welding materials are recommended. After welding, avoid staying in the sensitization temperature range (540-870°C) for a long time to prevent the risk of intergranular corrosion.
