Chemical composition of UNS S31254 Pipe
The composition of S31254 is chromium (19.5%-20.5%), nickel (17.5%-18.5%), molybdenum (6.0%-6.5%), nitrogen (0.18%-0.22%) and copper (0.5%-1.0%), and the carbon content is strictly controlled at ≤0.02%.
S31254 Pipe protection in chloride environment
In chlorine-containing media such as seawater and salt spray, its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion far exceeds that of 316L stainless steel (PREN≈25), and is even close to the level of Hastelloy C-276. For example, in 80℃ seawater, the pitting rate is less than 0.01 mm/year, which is suitable for seawater cooling pipes and submarine equipment.

Broad spectrum acid medium adaptability of stainless steel 254smo
254 smo in Reducing acid
Tolerant to medium concentration sulfuric acid (≤50%), phosphoric acid and organic acid, copper element inhibits uniform corrosion.
s254smo in Oxidizing acid
Good stability in nitric acid and mixed acid environment, but slightly weaker than 904L alloy in high concentration sulfuric acid.
en 1.4547 stainless steel Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance
The high nickel content significantly reduces the risk of stress corrosion in chloride and caustic environments, suitable for alkali concentration equipment and high temperature steam systems.
ultra 254 smo Hot forming
Temperature range 900-1175℃, water quenching after forming to prevent carbide precipitation.
254 smo steel Cold working
Staged deformation (single diameter reduction ≤10mm, wall reduction ≤2mm), interpass solid solution treatment (1180℃ insulation followed by water cooling) to eliminate work hardening.
