254 SMO / EN 1.4547 / UNS S31254 Material
SS 254 SMO contains high concentrations of chromium, nickel and molybdenum, with a small amount of nitrogen added. Alloy 254 SMO is designed for use in severe corrosive environments, especially industrial applications with strong oxidizing and reducing media. And the seamless structure of 254SMO makes it more pressure-bearing than welded pipes. Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, with a PREN value of more than 42. ASTM A312 UNS S31254 Pipe is well suited for use in high pressure, high temperature and corrosive environments.

DIN 1.4547 Material Chemical Composition
- Nickel (Ni): 17.5-18.5%
- Chromium (Cr): 19.5-20.5%
- Molybdenum (Mo): 6.0-6.5%
- Nitrogen (N): 0.18-0.22%
- Iron (Fe)
Corrosion Resistance
SS 254 SMO exhibits extremely high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing media such as seawater, with PREN values typically between 42-45.
Mechanical Properties
- Alloy 254 SMO mechanical properties are higher than those of standard austenitic stainless steels (such as 304 and 316), and can withstand complex stress environments.
- Tensile Strength: ≥ 650 MPa
- Yield Strength: ≥ 300 MPa
- Elongation: ≥ 35%
