ASTM A312 UNS S31254 is a super austenitic stainless steel, often used in harsh and corrosive environments. 254 SMO material has high chromium content (about 20%) and high molybdenum content (6-7%), which has excellent resistance to general and localized corrosion. 6MO has a low carbon content, which further enhances its resistance to intergranular corrosion. It also has high yield strength (about 300 MPa) and good elongation.
