As a nickel-based high-temperature alloy, Inconel 718 (2.4668) is unique in that it has a carefully designed chemical composition and optimized microstructure, which enables it to maintain excellent performance in extreme environments. Its chemical composition is based on nickel (Ni) (content 50-55%), with the addition of various alloying elements such as chromium (Cr, 17-21%), iron (Fe, balance), molybdenum (Mo, 2.8-3.3%), niobium (Nb, 4.75-5.5%) and titanium (Ti, 0.65-1.15%).

why choose alloy 718 pipe?
incon 718 pipe High-temperature mechanical properties
The most striking feature of Inconel 718 pipe is its excellent high-temperature strength. At room temperature, its typical tensile strength is 965-1370 MPa and its yield strength is 550-1100 MPa, even at a high temperature of 650℃, its yield strength can still maintain about 400 MPa and its tensile strength is about 930 MPa. Under 1000℃ test conditions, the creep rupture time of Inconel 718 can reach thousands of hours, which is far superior to similar materials.

ASTM B163 UNS N07718 pipe Corrosion resistance
Inconel 718 pipes also perform well in corrosive environments. In marine environments, its resistance to chloride ion pitting is far superior to ordinary stainless steel. Experimental data show that in 3.5% NaCl solution, its annual corrosion rate is only 0.05 mm/yr, which is about 1/10 of 316L stainless steel.
inconel 2.4668 pipe Adaptability to extreme environments
Low-temperature performance: It still maintains good toughness at -196℃ liquid nitrogen temperature, without brittle transition, and is suitable for aerospace liquid hydrogen/liquid oxygen delivery systems.
Radiation environment: It has high organizational stability under neutron irradiation and is selected as a control rod guide material for nuclear reactors.
Thermal cycle stability: Low thermal expansion coefficient reduces thermal stress and withstands severe temperature fluctuations.
Fatigue and creep interaction: It exhibits excellent resistance to fatigue-creep interaction damage in high-temperature and high-pressure composite environments.
