c276 plate Chemical composition

The chemical composition of Hastelloy C276 is based on nickel (56-63%), chromium (14.5-16.5%), and molybdenum (15-17%), supplemented by tungsten (3-4.5%), iron (4-7%) and trace elements such as cobalt and manganese.

 

n10276 material Physical and mechanical properties

The density of Hastelloy C276 sheet is about 8.9g/cm³, and the melting point is between 1325-1370℃. Its mechanical properties are outstanding: the tensile strength at room temperature is 690-800MPa, the yield strength is 283-415MPa, and the elongation can reach more than 40%, with both high strength and plasticity. In high temperature environment (≤1040℃), its tensile strength remains stable, which is especially suitable for high temperature and high pressure equipment.

Corrosion resistance of alloy c276 material

It can resist corrosion from concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and mixed acid, especially in high temperature dilute sulfuric acid.

It has significant tolerance to wet chlorine, hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide solution and high concentration chloride (such as FeCl₃, CuCl₂), and is one of the few materials suitable for seawater desalination and flue gas desulfurization.

In oil and gas environment containing hydrogen sulfide or high temperature chloride, its dual-phase structure can effectively delay crack propagation.

Laser or plasma cutting is recommended. When cold forming, its high strength and cold hardening tendency (1-2 times that of carbon steel) should be considered. If necessary, hot forming should be used to reduce processing stress.

Matching welding materials (such as ERNiCrMo-4 welding wire or ENiCrMo-4 welding rod) are preferred, the interlayer temperature is controlled to ≤150℃, and argon is used to protect the back of the weld to prevent oxidation. The welding pool is viscous, and small current multi-pass welding is required to avoid cracks.

The solution treatment temperature needs to reach 1100-1200℃, and rapid cooling is required to inhibit carbide precipitation and maintain corrosion resistance.
