Cold Drawn Process of Inconel 625 Seamless Tubing

Inconel 625 Seamless Tubing

The cold drawing process of Inconel 625 seamless tubing involves a series of steps that include cleaning, annealing, and cold drawing. To achieve the n06625 alloy desired dimensions, mechanical properties, and surface finish. EN 2.4856 inconel 625 alloy is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high strength, making it suitable for various applications, including tubing for high-temperature and corrosive environments.

Cold Drawing Process for Inconel 625 Seamless Tubing:

1. Material Selection:
Start with high-quality Inconel 625 billets or hollow tubes.

2. Annealing:
Heat the Inconel 625 UNS N06625 material to an elevated temperature for annealing. This process helps relieve stresses and improve the material's workability.

3. Cold Drawing:
The annealed ASTM B444 UNS N06625 tube is then subjected to the cold drawing process. This involves pulling the material through a series of dies to reduce its diameter and wall thickness while increasing its length.

4. Intermediate Annealing:
Intermediate annealing may be performed between drawing steps to maintain inconel 2.4856 material ductility and prevent excessive hardness.

5. Surface Cleaning:
The cold drawn Inconel 625 seamless tubing undergoes surface cleaning to remove any lubricants or oxides accumulated during the drawing process.

6. Final Sizing:
The ASTM B444 Inconel 625 tubing is successively drawn through smaller dies until it reaches the final desired dimensions. This process imparts improved mechanical properties and a smooth, uniform surface finish.

7. Straightening:
After the final cold rolling step, the nickel alloy 625 tubing may go through a straightening process to ensure it meets the required straightness specifications.

8. Final Annealing:
A final annealing step may be applied to relieve any residual stresses and enhance the ernicrmo 3 inconel 625 tubing's mechanical properties.

9. Cutting and Inspection:
The nickel 625 N06625 material tubing is cut to the desired lengths and inspected for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall quality.

10. Final Surface Treatment:
Depending on the application, the ASME SB 444 Inconel 625 seamless tubing may undergo additional surface treatments, such as pickling or passivation, to improve corrosion resistance.

Advantages of Cold Drawn:

  • Improved SB 444 UNS N06625 pipe dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Enhanced Inconel 625 UNS N06625 mechanical properties, including increased tensile strength and hardness.
  • 625 LCF pipe has tighter tolerances and uniformity in wall thickness.
