ASTM A269 mainly applies to tubes made of 300 series stainless steel grades, such as TP304, TP304L, TP316, TP316L, TP317L and TP310S. These grades have a higher content of nickel and chromium, making them more resistant to corrosion. On the other hand, ASTM A249 mainly deals with tubes made of 200 series stainless steel grades, such as TP201, TP202, and TP204. Although these grades are cheaper than 300 series, they have a lower content of nickel and chromium, making them less resistant to corrosion.
Manufacturing Process
