The Fundamental Material Difference: Alloy Optimization

The foundational difference between S32750 and S32760 lies in the specific addition of alloying stabilizers. UNS S32760 was developed as a specialized optimization of the standard S32750 composition.

 

While S32750 relies primarily on high levels of Chromium, Nickel, and Molybdenum to fight localized corrosion, S32760 introduces deliberate additions of Tungsten (W) and Copper (Cu). The inclusion of 0.50% to 1.00% Tungsten enhances the alloy's pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, particularly in acidic solutions. Concurrently, the addition of 0.50% to 1.00% Copper significantly improves its structural resistance to strong reducing mineral acids, such as hot sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and hydrochloric acid (HCl).
