This is the core value of 304H. In the typical high temperature service range of 550°C to 800°C, its ability to resist slow and continuous deformation far exceeds that of 304/L. For example, at 650°C/100MPa stress, the creep rupture life of 304H can be several times or even an order of magnitude higher than that of 304.

Organization stability: In long-term service at high temperature, 304H has better resistance to the precipitation of harmful phases (such as σ phase), reduces the risk of embrittlement, and extends the safe life of equipment.

corrosion resistance: Reliable performance in general atmosphere, fresh water, and a variety of mild chemical media, equivalent to 304, better than ordinary carbon steel.

hot and cold processing: Austenite structure gives it good ductility and toughness, which is convenient for stamping, bending, deep drawing and other forming processes (but high carbon has a slight effect on extreme deep drawing).

Sensitization risk: The heat-affected zone of welding is prone to precipitate chromium carbide in the sensitization range of 425-850°C, resulting in intergranular corrosion tendency. Solution treatment (rapid cooling) is required after welding to dissolve carbides.

Hot cracking tendency: Slightly higher than 304L, heat input and interlayer temperature need to be strictly controlled.

Recommended welding materials: Usually Nb-stabilized welding materials (such as 347 type) or ultra-low carbon welding materials (such as 308L) are selected to improve the resistance to intergranular corrosion.
