Why choose Incoloy 800H pipeline?
800h alloy pipe high-temperature performance
- Creep and stress rupture performance: In the critical temperature range of 1100°F to 1800°F (593°C to 982°C), 800H achieves optimized creep resistance through high carbon content and coarse grain structure design, which is significantly improved compared to the basic 800 alloy.
- High-temperature structural stability: Long-term exposure at 1200°F (649°C) will not form brittle σ phase, avoiding the risk of embrittlement of the material in high-temperature service. Its maximum continuous use temperature can reach 1000℃.
- Thermal-mechanical comprehensive properties: As the temperature rises, 800H still maintains sufficient mechanical strength - the tensile strength is maintained at 300MPa at 600℃.Its thermal expansion coefficient remains stable at high temperatures (9.9-10⁻⁶/°F in the range of 70-1800°F), avoiding stress concentration problems in thermal cycles.

Alloy 800h Corrosion resistance
- Chloride environment: The high nickel content (30-35%) gives it excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and its performance in chloride ion environments far exceeds that of 304/316 stainless steel.
- Oxidizing and reducing media: The synergistic effect of chromium-nickel makes it perform well in nitric acid (up to 70% concentration), organic acids (formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid) and alkaline solutions. However, its corrosion resistance is limited in strong reducing acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, and the application environment needs to be carefully evaluated.
- High temperature corrosion resistance: In carburizing, sulfiding and oxidizing atmospheres, the Cr₂O₃-Al₂O₃ composite oxide layer formed on the surface provides continuous protection, especially suitable for petrochemical cracking furnaces and heat treatment equipment.
Incoloy N08810 pipe Physical and mechanical properties
- Density: 8.0 g/cm³, lower than pure nickel alloy, reducing the deadweight load of the pipeline system.
- Thermal conductivity: Increases with increasing temperature (6.7 Btu·ft/ft²·hr·°F at 70°F; 17.8 at 1800°F), which is beneficial to the heat transfer efficiency in high temperature heat exchange applications.
- Room temperature mechanical properties: Typical values in the solid solution state are tensile strength ≥450MPa, yield strength ≥180MPa, and elongation ≥35%, which are higher than conventional austenitic stainless steels, providing a safety margin for pipeline installation.
