Product Introduction

SS 316 Tube is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing molybdenum. This addition increases general corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. It can withstand temperatures up to 870°C (1600°F) in continuous service and up to 925°C (1700°F) in intermittent service. In the annealed condition, ALLOY 316 is non-magnetic, but it can become slightly magnetic when cold worked.
