This allows it to easily withstand harsh environments such as seawater, chloride solutions, and chemical process media.

However, S32205's duplex structure provides inherent immunity to SCC, a key factor in its widespread use in the oil and gas industry.
Uniform Corrosion Resistance: It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of organic and inorganic acids (especially phosphoric and sulfuric acids), alkalis, and saline solutions.

- Cutting: Plasma cutting, water jet cutting, or abrasive cutting can be used. Oxyacetylene flame cutting should be avoided.
