S32205 pipe (1.4462) is made from a high-performance duplex stainless steel-commonly referred to as Duplex 2205-that combines the corrosion resistance of austenitic grades with the high strength and stress corrosion cracking resistance of ferritic steels. Owing to its balanced microstructure, this alloy is ideally suited to harsh environments encountered in the oil and gas, chemical processing, marine, water treatment, and many other industries.

Duplex stainless steels S32205 have twice the yield strength of standard austenitic stainless steels (e.g., 304, 316), making them ideal for pressure applications and structural integrity.

sS2205 Corrosion Resistance

Super duplex 2205 offers excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion (especially in chloride-rich environments), stress corrosion cracking, and

general corrosion in acidic and alkaline conditions.

s32205 pipe Weldability and Workability

Despite being duplex, 2205 is relatively easy to weld using standard welding techniques. Post-weld heat treatment is typically not required, though care must be taken to avoid forming intermetallic phases.

2205 duplex stainless Temperature Range

S32205 performs well in temperatures from -50°C to +300°C. Extended exposure above this range can lead to embrittlement due to the formation of undesirable phases like sigma.
