Resists pitting and crevice corrosion: In environments containing chloride and fluoride ions, its pitting resistance equivalent value (PREN) is very high, effectively preventing localized corrosion.

Resists stress corrosion cracking (SCC): Austenitic stainless steels are highly susceptible to SCC in environments with high chloride concentrations, while C276 is virtually immune.

Resists strong inorganic acid corrosion: It offers excellent resistance to wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions; it can be used in hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid environments of varying concentrations and temperatures.
