- The core process begins with vacuum melting, utilizing a dual VIM (vacuum induction melting) and VAR (vacuum arc remelting) process. This precisely controls the chemical composition, particularly the levels of impurities such as carbon and silicon, eliminating inclusions and ensuring a uniform microstructure, laying the foundation for high-purity material.
- Hot extrusion is performed. The round bar is heated to a plastic state and forced through a ring die under high pressure to form a seamless tube billet. This step requires extremely stringent temperature and speed control.
- During the cold working, the Hastelloy C276 welded tube billet undergoes multiple passes of cold rolling or cold drawing, combined with intermediate solution annealing, to gradually achieve the target dimensions and surface finish, significantly improving strength and dimensional accuracy.
- Welding is a key process in welded pipe manufacturing. High-energy beam welding methods such as plasma welding (PAW) or laser beam welding (LBW) are used, along with inert gas shielding, to prevent compositional segregation in the weld area.
