The pipe can provide excellent protection for the highly corrosive media (hot concentrated acid, mixed acid, halide solution, caustic alkali, etc.) flowing inside with a relatively thin wall thickness (compared to heavy equipment), significantly reducing material costs and equipment weight. At the same time, it resists the dual erosion of the medium inside the pipe and the external environment.

The ability to withstand high temperatures (up to about 900°C in oxidizing environments) is better than many stainless steels and ordinary alloy steels in resisting slow deformation (creep) and gradual stress reduction (relaxation). It remains stable in oxygen-containing, carbon-containing high-temperature atmospheres to avoid failure due to wall thinning or embrittlement.

Although it has high strength, its good ductility allows it to be formed into complex pipes through processes such as cold bending and hot bending.

Inconel 625 has quite good weldability. Using matching ERNiCrMo-3 welding wire and appropriate processes (such as TIG, MIG), combined with post-weld solution treatment (depending on requirements), high-quality welds with performance close to that of the parent material can be obtained, significantly reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion.
