SS321 (UNS S32100) is a titanium (Ti) stabilized austenitic stainless steel. By adding titanium, the precipitation of chromium carbide is effectively inhibited, and the intergranular corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability are significantly improved. As a pipeline material, it is suitable for high temperature (400-900℃) and corrosive environments such as petrochemical, aerospace, and energy equipment.

Chromium forms a dense Cr₂O₃ film below 900℃, which can withstand sulfur-containing flue gas, molten salt and combustion exhaust gas, and the continuous use temperature reaches 870℃ (intermittent use can reach 925℃).

Titanium stabilized design passes ASTM A262 Practice E test (nitric acid method) and has no tendency to intergranular corrosion in the welding or sensitization temperature range.
