AMS 5645 UNS S32100 Aerospace Tubing, commonly referred to as alloy 321 stainless steel, is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel. The inclusion of titanium in the alloy provides excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization, even in extreme temperatures up to 1500°F (815°C). This is crucial for aerospace applications where materials are often exposed to elevated temperatures. AISI 321 exhibits superior resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800-1500°F (427-816°C).
