SS347H | UNS S34709 | 1.4961 | AISI 347H Material Suppliers Manufacturers

SS 347H material, a high carbon, stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy, is an enhanced version of 347 stainless steel with a higher carbon content (0.04% minimum). SS347H can withstand temperatures up to 1600°F (871°C). SS347H has strong corrosion resistance in a variety of sour environments, including sulfuric, nitric and phosphoric acids. It is a top choice in industries such as chemical processing, power generation and petrochemical.

SS 347H Material

Oxidation Resistance of SS 347H

SS347H can withstand high temperature oxidation up to 1600°F (871°C), making it ideal for use in furnace components, exhaust systems, and other high temperature environments.

Intergranular Corrosion Resistance

The addition of niobium stabilizes the alloy and prevents the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries during welding, which would otherwise cause intergranular corrosion.

Stress Corrosion Cracking

AISI 347H is resistant to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in most environments

Weldability of SS 347h Material

Recommended filler metals:

  • ER347 (for gas tungsten arc welding, GTAW)
  • ER347H (higher strength for thicker materials)
  • E347 (for shielded metal arc welding, SMAW)

Applications of SS 347H (UNS S34709)

  • Chemical processing
  • Power generation
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Furnace components and heat exchangers
  • Aerospace components
