Manufacturing Process of Nickel Alloy 201 Strip
alloy 200 plate Raw Material Melting
Vacuum induction melting (VIM) or electric arc furnace melting is used to ensure the purity of the raw materials and control the content of impurities such as carbon and sulfur. The composition needs to be continuously monitored during the melting process to avoid affecting the strip performance due to excessive impurities.
nickel 201 alloy Hot Rolling
The melted nickel alloy ingot is heated to 1100-1200℃ and rolled into a hot-rolled coil with a thickness of 10-20mm using a hot rolling mill, laying the foundation for subsequent cold rolling. After hot rolling, annealing is required (temperature 900-1000℃, holding for 1-2 hours) to eliminate rolling stress and restore the material's ductility.
Cold Rolling and Finishing nickel 200 supplier
Cold Rolling: The hot-rolled coil is cold-rolled at room temperature through multiple passes to gradually reduce the thickness to the target size (typically 0.05-3.0 mm, up to 0.01 mm for special requirements). The cold rolling rate of each pass is controlled at 20%-40% to avoid over-processing that could lead to material embrittlement.
Intermediate Annealing: Intermediate annealing is performed every 2-3 passes during cold rolling (temperature 800-900℃, holding time 30-60 minutes) to eliminate work hardening.
Finish Rolling: The cold rolling rate of the final pass is controlled at 10%-20% to ensure the surface roughness (Ra≤0.8μm) and dimensional accuracy (thickness tolerance ±0.005mm) of the strip.
Finish Annealing: The final annealing temperature is 850-950℃, held for 1-3 hours, and then cooled in the furnace to obtain the annealed strip, ensuring uniform mechanical properties.
ni200 Surface Treatment and Inspection
Surface Treatment: Remove oxide scale generated during rolling by pickling (mixed solution of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid), or polish as required (mirror polishing, wire drawing).
Inspection: Includes chemical composition analysis (spectral analysis), mechanical property testing (tensile test, hardness test), dimensional inspection (laser thickness gauge), and surface quality inspection (visual inspection or flaw detection) to ensure compliance with standards such as ASTM B162 and GB/T 2072.
