n02201 Resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion

The PREN value of Alloy 201 is about 28-30, which is higher than that of conventional 201 stainless steel (PREN ≈ 25) and can withstand environments with chloride ion concentration ≤ 10000ppm.

Acid resistance: It has good resistance to reducing acids such as dilute sulfuric acid (concentration ≤ 10%, temperature ≤ 60 ℃), hydrochloric acid (concentration ≤ 5%, temperature ≤ 40 ℃), acetic acid, citric acid, etc., with a corrosion rate of ≤ 0.05mm/a. The tolerance to oxidizing acids such as nitric acid is slightly inferior to 304 stainless steel, but better than conventional 201.

Alkali resistance: Can withstand strong alkaline solutions such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide (concentration ≤ 30%, temperature ≤ 80 ℃), corrosion rate ≤ 0.03mm/a, suitable for alkaline cleaning equipment or chemical reaction vessels.

Resistance to intergranular corrosion: Due to low carbon content (≤ 0.02%), after sensitization treatment (650 ℃ insulation for 10 hours), there is no tendency for intergranular corrosion tested according to ASTM A262 E method.

Stress corrosion cracking resistance: In chloride environments, the critical stress corrosion cracking strength is ≥ 200MPa, which is better than conventional 201 stainless steel and can avoid the risk of cracking caused by residual stress after welding or forming.
