Chemical composition of ss321 Pipe

The composition of S32100 is: chromium (17%–19%) provides an antioxidant basis, nickel (9%–12%) stabilizes the austenite structure, and titanium (≥5×C%) combines with carbon to form TiC, which inhibits the precipitation of chromium carbide in the sensitization temperature range (425°C–815°C), fundamentally solving the risk of intergranular corrosion. Assisted by low carbon control (C≤0.08%) and elements such as manganese (≤2.0%) and silicon (≤1.0%).

High temperature oxidation resistance of stainless steel 321 pipe

Chromium forms a dense Cr₂O₃ oxide film below 900°C, which is resistant to erosion by flue gas, molten salt and combustion exhaust gas (such as sulfur-containing oil and gas), and the continuous use temperature can reach 870°C.

Intergranular corrosion resistance of s32100 Stainless steel

Titanium stabilization design inhibits the precipitation of chromium carbide at grain boundaries when it is used in the welding or sensitization temperature range (such as 450°C–850°C), and there is no tendency for intergranular corrosion in media such as nitric acid and organic acids.

Limitations of s321 pipe

It has limited corrosion resistance in reducing strong acids (such as hydrochloric acid and dilute sulfuric acid), and should be avoided in oxygen-free acidic environments, when the chloride concentration is greater than 100 ppm and the temperature is greater than 60°C, there is a risk of pitting and stress corrosion cracking.
