17-4ph Stainless Steel Sheet is a chromium-nickel-copper precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel with the addition of niobium. It is resistant to temperatures up to 572°F (300°C) and is suitable for cryogenic service. SS 17-4ph plate is also known for its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Alloy 17-4PH is resistant to common corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, salts and oxidants, comparable to 304 stainless steel plate, and generally superior to 400 series stainless steel plate. AMS 5604 Type 630 stainless steel is widely used in marine and aerospace industries, among other applications.
