Urea Stainless Steel 316L Mod Sheet is an improved version of 316L Stainless Steel. 316L Mod has an ultra-low silicon content and a higher molybdenum content. 316L UG Stainless Steel has excellent resistance to chloride environments, acids and bases, as well as pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC). Urea 316L Mod Thermal Properties
ASTM A240 UNS S31603 Stainless Steel Plate also has a specific heat capacity of approximately 500 J/kg K, which contributes to its ability to withstand thermal fluctuations. Commonly used in heat exchangers and condensers.
SS 316L Mod Stainless Steel Fabrication
- Hot forming is performed in the temperature range of 1200-950°C (2732-1742°F).
- Annealing is at 1120°-1180°C (2048-2156°F) followed by a water quench.
- Pickling with 10-20% H2SO4 - 1.5-5% HF at 60°C (140°F) is also possible.

316L Mod Stainless Steel Plate can be welded using common techniques such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Its low carbon content minimizes the risk of sensitization and subsequent intergranular corrosion.
