AISI 347 stainless steel (S34700/1.4550) is a niobium/tantalum stabilized stainless steel plate with the primary advantage of excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after exposure to chromium carbide precipitation temperatures between 800 and 1500°F (427 and 816°C). It also has good low temperature toughness. SS347 is non-magnetic. Alloy 347 has higher creep and stress rupture properties than Alloy 304/304L. Alloy 347 has better overall corrosion resistance than Alloy 321.
